We have renewed our strong commercial relationship with a Hampshire firm to help install additional cattle grids in an iconic National Park.
In 2016 we were commissioned to manufacture two concrete cattle grid bases for Southampton based Su-Fix Precast, which in turn had been commissioned by New Forest District Council to replace existing cattle grids which were beyond repair.
The team at Su-Fix was so impressed by the quality of both our original work and our customer service that they had no second thoughts in commissioning a repeat order from us.
According to Tim Evans, our director of bespoke products, “manufacturing the bases for cattle grids sounds at first like a rather minor task – and one of limited benefit.
“However, in these cases, each cattle grid base is made up of either two or three units with each weighing up to about 10 tonnes. So these are substantial products that need to be moulded, delivered and installed with precision.
“And because the New Forest National Park is home to thousands of grazing cattle and other animals, including the famous ponies, these grids ensure that livestock can be kept safely and don’t present a potential hazard to car drivers and other road users.”
Mark Jauncey, Su-Fix Precast’s director added “the initial work we did with Poundfield in ensuring that the specifications for these bases was absolutely right first-time has certainly paid off with this second batch.
“Poundfield’s experience and knowledge of precast units was very valuable during the manufacturing process and the suggestions put forward by Tim went a long way in securing both sets of contracts.”
Our commercial director, Matt Moss, explained that “our relationship with Su-Fix Precast is rooted in our attention to detail and a customer service ethos that leaves no stone unturned in ensuring the product is 100% right for our clients’ needs.”
