Precast concrete – from design through to installation

We are trusted by some of the UK’s largest companies with their precast needs. We can mass-produce concrete units for any construction project or produce individual one-off components for smaller jobs. With the facilities to manufacture high volume as well as one-off pieces, as well as install your precast units on your behalf, Poundfield Precast offers a comprehensive service from design through to finish.

We work with a wide range of blue-chip clients and projects, ranging from coastal and river defence work, civils, and railways through to major infrastructure projects for the likes of the Highways Agency, Network Rail, HS2 and Tideway, to name but a few.

Leading the way with ultra-low carbon precast concrete

Since January 2022 every product manufactured by Poundfield Precast has been available in an ultra-low carbon option, marketed under the name of Greenbloc.

We are providing the construction industry with real commercial solutions to reduce embodied CO2 by using our precast products. Manufactured at our sites across the country, we provide the broadest geographical reach of any precast concrete product supplier in the UK, while also minimising carbon emissions throughout the supply chain.

Part of SigmaRoc

Poundfield Precast is part of SigmaRoc PLC, an AIM-quoted lime and industrial limestone group operating in the UK and Northern Europe. Operating from over 90 sites and employing approximately 2,900 people, the group has a turnover of £1 billion.

As a business, we have three operating divisions, all offering areas of technical expertise and years of specialist experience to our customer base. These divisions are retaining walls, beam and block flooring and bespoke precast.

Retaining walls

Specialists in the retaining wall market, we have seven trademarked core products, including the unique ‘A’ shaped Alfabloc®. Our products are used extensively in the construction, agricultural, ports and shipping, and waste and recycling industries and are used to retain everything from soil and earth, through to bulk commodities and waste products. We also offer a complete installation package for our clients depending on your requirements.

Our products include Alfabloc, Betaloc, L-bloc, Shuttabloc, Taperbloc and prestressed panels.

Beam and block flooring

Our flooring division specialises in both traditional beam and block flooring as well as EPS flooring systems. Our beams are made using precision steel moulds and incorporate pre-stressed steel wires covered in a bespoke concrete design to give a high-quality product with a superior wet-cast or A-grade finish.

We manufacture quality floor beams finished to a very high smooth standard, accredited with CE Mark and in accordance with British Standard EN 15037-1:2005.

The services we offer include a comprehensive flooring quotation package from design advice and preparation of construction drawings, through to delivery to site and installation, providing you with one point of contact.

Bespoke precast

Our bespoke division delivers real-time solutions to companies where an off-the-shelf solution is not available. While Poundfield’s standard range of precast concrete products solves everyday problems, many construction projects require bespoke units to fulfil a very specific task. The bespoke division can offer one-off specials through to many thousands of units for a single project.

Supported by a team of designers and technicians we offer a comprehensive service from design through to finish on any customised requirements.

The types of bespoke products we have produced include bridge beams, ground beams, ring beams, cable pits, cladding panels, channels and troughs, cover slabs, dock levellers, EV charger bases and slabs, flood walling, retaining walls, lift shafts, crash barriers, sea defence walls, solar panel blocks, stadia and seating, stairs and steps, terracing units, and railway platforms to name just a few.
