Supporting Men’s Health Awareness Month

November is Men’s Health Awareness Month, with International Men’s Day falling on November 19th. Men’s Health Awareness is dedicated to bringing awareness to a wide range of men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health & suicide prevention.

As a business, the majority of our workforce are male so we wanted to support this important campaign and we organised an event to raise money for two local men’s mental health charities:

The Lighthouse Club – a construction industry charity which does sterling work to provide emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support to construction workers and their families lighthouseclub.org, and Man-up which raises awareness about mental health among men manup.how.

Coffee, sausage rolls and cake were provided during the morning and raffles held to raise money for these important causes. Our sister company Allen Concrete, also took part in the fundraising, and nearly £1,000 was raised by both teams which will be matched by a donation from the businesses to give a total of £2,000, which will be split between both charities.
