Poundfield Precast are sponsoring Neil Foster to cycle from Paris to Colchester – a distance of 320 miles in aid of the Rob George Foundation.
Neil played cricket for England from 1983 – 1993 featuring in 29 Tests and 48 One Day Internationals. Since retiring he has qualified as a Physio Therapist and runs a very successful practise in the Colchester area while still maintaining a presence in local cricket.
The Rob George Foundation was established to provide financial support and help to young people who have life threatening illnesses. The Foundation also provides financial support for young people who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and ability in sport but are constrained from maximising their talent due to lack of resources.
Rob George was a talented twenty one year old cricketer who had become a full MCC playing member. His life was unfortunately cut short by Myeloid Leukaemia in 2013.
The Cycle event starts in Paris on the 18th August and ends at the Colchester & Essex Cricket Club on Friday, 22nd August 2014.
