Poundfield Precast have helped a client to store part of his harvest, supplying and installing L-blocs in record time.

Back in the spring, Poul Hovesen of Salle Farms, Reepham on the north Norfolk coast contacted us with a view to installing 90 of our 3.65m L-Blocs to adapt an old barn so that it could safely house 5000 cubic metres of grain.

As harvest got underway, and despite it being an incredibly busy time of year, we swung into action.

Under the guidance of our production manager, Paul Sheppard, we assigned three staff to the emergency project and produced, delivered and installed the L-Blocs to the farm within three days – cutting the usual installation time by half.

“As a longstanding customer of Poundfield Precast, I already knew about the quality of their products and their customer service” Poul explains.

Salle Farms had previously bought a number of our 3m L-Blocs to support another barn on the site.

“So I decided to call Poundfield to see if they could help – and my goodness they did just that in record time at the moment I needed them to!”

The L-Blocs were fixed to support a brick barn dating from the Second World War and involved some precision measurements. The installation was very tight as there was only 50mm of clearance from the telehandler to the roof.
