This year, we proudly celebrate a major milestone – 25 years of delivering top-quality precast concrete solutions across the UK. Originally established as Poundfield Products, the company has evolved from humble beginnings into becoming a market leader in retaining walls, bespoke precast, and beam and block flooring. Our journey has been one of relentless innovation, dedication, and a commitment to building better with sustainable and innovative solutions, all while staying true to our core values of quality and reliability.

As we celebrate 25 years, we also want to recognise the people who have been with us on this journey. Our success wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication and expertise of our incredible team. 1999

Precast Retaining Wall - Alfabloc® 3.65 Metre Block

Company founded and Alfabloc launched

The Alfabloc® is the only ‘A’ shape, interconnecting freestanding precast concrete wall system on the market offering a flexible solution for your bulk storage needs.

2002

Prestressed panels introduced

Combination with Alfabloc provided a wider offering for grain and bulk storage for the agricultural market.

2003

L-bloc launched

1 metre wide. This product is lightweight and interlocking, making it more robust and easier to install than standard precast ‘L-shaped’ blocks.

2005

2 metre wide L-bloc®

2 metre wide L-bloc® added to range. These have all the advantages of the original product but having the extra width means installation time is halved and it is very competitive in terms of price. As the applications of the company's concrete products increased so too did the markets for which the products appealed. The company experienced rapid growth in recycling & waste.

2008

Launch of Betaloc®

The Betaloc® is Poundfield Precast's concrete brick style of interlocking building blocks, which provides a highly flexible construction system.

2009

Bespoke Concrete Panels - Sea Defence - Whitley Bay

Bespoke Concrete Products

A new offer of bespoke concrete products made to customer specification was launched with great success. Initially focused of precast concrete slabs used in the construction of car parks, we now have a wide breadth of experience in providing precast concrete solutions across a number of industries.

2009

Shuttabloc™

With the increased use of precast concrete in construction, and the evolution of modern methods of construction, the concrete boundaries were stretched further with the Shuttabloc™. This product is quick to install but provides the same properties as a wall that has been cast in situ.

2010

Beam and block flooring

Block & beam flooring department was established offering a made-to-measure service, along with on-site design service, for the residential and commercial property markets. A great many of our products are now supplied to builders merchants across the UK, as well as direct to end user customers.

2013

Taperbloc™

Taperbloc™ was introduced as a lighter alternative to the Alfabloc®

2014

CE mark

British Standards Industry assessment to obtain CE mark accreditation on our retaining wall and beam & block flooring products.

2017

Acquired by SigmaRoc

SigmaRoc PLC, an AIM-quoted lime and industrial limestone group operating in the UK and Northern Europe. Operating from over 90 sites and employing approximately 2,900 people, the group has a turnover of £1 billion.
