Six of our ladies were glowing throughout this year’s neon themed 5 mile route, which started and finished at Ipswich Town Football Club, as they walked through the town passing along Ipswich Waterfront, up Foxhall Road to St Elizabeth Hospice and past Christchurch Park. Over 1,200 people took part in the walk and so far over £90,000 has been raised.
St Elizabeth Hospice cares for over 3,000 patients and their families who are suffering with life-limiting illnesses across the East Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Waveney areas. They provide outstanding end of life care and offer support for families and carers who play a vital role in patient’s lives. In recent years the Hospice has introduced a dedicated young adult service, supporting the over 14 year olds in their transition from children’s hospice services into adult care.
After raising funds of £1,489 through sponsorship, Poundfield Precast contributed a further £511 to the charity to make the £2,000 donation.
“We were so proud of our team that took part in the Midnight Walk to support such an important local charity, as well as everyone who sponsored them” said Jackie Bickers, HR Coordinator for Poundfield Precast. “St Elizabeth Hospice do amazing work for the local community and we are pleased to have helped in our own small way by supporting this important event” said Jackie.
