Introducing our new thermal flooring solution: Poundfield EPS Flooring (PEPS)

With this in mind, we are very excited to be introducing our new thermal flooring solution to meet compliance with the revised Part L Building Regulations which come into effect in the middle of this year.
Expanded polystyrene (EPS) is proving to be an ideal insulating material in the construction of floors using prestressed concrete beams. PEPS is a lightweight, rigid, plastic foam insulation produced from solid beads of polystyrene. It is made up of 98% air and 2% plastic.
As major manufacturers and suppliers of beam and block
flooring we have introduced PEPS flooring as a way for our customers to supply more environmentally-friendly solutions to help reduce heating costs, by improving thermal insulation and saving wasted energy.

Canvey Island Southern Shoreline Revetment Project
We provided over 1,000 individually reinforced low-carbon precast concrete steps which were manufactured in steel moulds. The units were made using approximately 235m3 of Cemfree Rapid from DB Group Ltd, an alkali-activated cementitious material (AACM) which has 85% lower embodied carbon than 100% OPC (Ordinary Portland Cement) concrete.
