It’s exciting to see the Regent Cinema in Redcar taking shape. The new cinema stands on the beach front which required a sea defence structure to be constructed from the beach to the promenade level.
We supplied reinforced L-walls and capping beams to protect the building from the sea. The capping beams were specially designed to sit over sheet piles which had been driven into the sand.
We can’t wait to see the finished result when it is due to be completed in Spring 2022.

Canvey Island Southern Shoreline Revetment Project
We provided over 1,000 individually reinforced low-carbon precast concrete steps which were manufactured in steel moulds. The units were made using approximately 235m3 of Cemfree Rapid from DB Group Ltd, an alkali-activated cementitious material (AACM) which has 85% lower embodied carbon than 100% OPC (Ordinary Portland Cement) concrete.
