Rob Clarke (pictured left) has recently been promoted to Retaining Walls Director at Poundfield Precast. Rob has been with the company for 6 years as Technical Sales and Design Manager where he has had considerable experience in the design of retaining wall projects all over the country. Prior to joining Poundfield he had worked for 10 years as a designer in the precast concrete industry and this background has given him an excellent understanding from the ground up of design through to production which will be essential in his new role. “I’m excited to be taking on this role at a time when we have several new products in the pipeline that we are looking to introduce to our customers,” said Rob. In his spare time Rob is a keen mountain biker and motocross fan and later on in the year he is taking part in his first full marathon in Brighton.
At the same time Tom Wain (pictured right) has joined the business as Commercial Manager to head up Poundfields sales operations. Tom has over 18 years experience working in precast concrete and off-site manufacture industries and his appointment comes at a time when Poundfield are focussing on further expansion of their business, having opened two new production sites in South Wales and in the North West.
“I’m looking forward to being able to build upon our existing successful design and engineering capabilities and to help Poundfield become the go-to company for all matters precast.” Said Tom. We see great potential in expanding our sales of Shuttabloc (our unique hybrid solution for a very heavy duty push wall) and at the same time we are expanding our installation services to allow us to offer a full turn-key solution to our clients. Tom is a keen crown green bowls player, having represented his county (Derbyshire) several times and also has played in National finals as well. With all play being on hold during Covid restrictions he is looking forward to being to able to play again now that lockdown has eased.
