Poundfield Precast CE Mark Award

Poundfield has been awarded a prestigious designation for the fourth year in a row, with the high quality of every single part of our production process being recognised.

We have been given the CE mark by the British Standards Institute (BSI), the body charged with improving and assessing the quality of British companies’ processes and systems.

Chris Skippins, Poundfield’s HSEQ manager, responsible for product quality, who managed the inspection at the firm’s Suffolk site, explained that the BSI inspectors were interested in evaluating both the firm’s usual manufacturing processes and its procedures for when something goes wrong.

We get audited on our processes to ensure that when things do go wrong we are quick to act to ensure both the problem is rectified and we put in steps to prevent it happening again. It is part of our customer service to deliver both a quality product and a quality service.”

Chris added: “the CE mark also helps us with future potential regulatory changes arising out of Brexit.”

Matt Moss, Poundfield Product’s finance director, explained what the CE mark meant to the company: “it is both a welcome recognition of the team’s total focus on quality and it acts as a further incentive to further stretch our market-leading edge over our competitors.”

Matt explained that being part of a bigger organisation was already reaping benefits for Poundfield. Earlier this year, we were acquired by SigmaRoc which has therefore allowed us to further grow our presence in the precast concrete sector.

Being part of SigmaRoc means that we can accelerate our investment plans into new production methods and infrastructure, allowing us to go from strength-to-strength in future years” added Matt.
