The Colchester Pro-Am is always a popular and well respected day in the golfing calendar and last Friday’s event lived up to its reputation. This is the sixth year that Poundfield Precast have been the main sponsor and the competition was as fierce as ever.
Congratulations to the team from SRC Contracts who came first in the team results (Darren Tucker, Dave Reeve, Paul Springall and professional James Webber from Three Rivers Golf Club).
Also, a big well done to Phil Clarke (BC Designs) who won the ‘longest drive on the 15th hole’ award – the individual hole prize sponsored by Poundfield Precast.
Steve Parnell, a team member from one of the Poundfield teams won an individual hole prize for nearest to the pin in 2 on the 11th. Well done for flying the flag for us!
In addition to being an enjoyable day out for all, the event also raised a significant amount of money for the very deserving charity, St Helena Hospice in Colchester.

Canvey Island Southern Shoreline Revetment Project
We provided over 1,000 individually reinforced low-carbon precast concrete steps which were manufactured in steel moulds. The units were made using approximately 235m3 of Cemfree Rapid from DB Group Ltd, an alkali-activated cementitious material (AACM) which has 85% lower embodied carbon than 100% OPC (Ordinary Portland Cement) concrete.
