Poundfield Precast of Creeting St. Peter near Ipswich, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of precast concrete retaining walls, certainly entered into the spirit of national “Wear it Pink” day on Friday, 24th October in support of the Breast Cancer Campaign.
A large number of the company’s employees from the management team to factory staff arrived at work in an amazing concoction of pink paraphernalia including Rufus, the managing director’s Labrador, who was sporting a fetching reflective pink waistcoat!
Masterminded by Poundfield’s receptionist Henrietta Schwier, a total of nearly £300 was raised from the day made up from staff and supplier donations, a cake sale and a ‘name the pink teddy’ competition.

We provided over 1,000 individually reinforced low-carbon precast concrete steps which were manufactured in steel moulds. The units were made using approximately 235m3 of Cemfree Rapid from DB Group Ltd, an alkali-activated cementitious material (AACM) which has 85% lower embodied carbon than 100% OPC (Ordinary Portland Cement) concrete.
